Hi everyone. Hope you are well in these trying times of 2020.
I wanted to talk about my writing process, which is what I like to call 'Plantser writing'.
Not being a real good planner in regards to ... Everything actually, I do start with a plan. In my personal life nothing ever goes according to that plan. My writing is very similar. The plan is always written on paper. The first chapter follows the plot outline and then everything goes as it wants to go. Characters want certain things, my head is a mess of idea's and everything ends up flowing from my fingers (pen is at this point not fast enough). Once I finish a short story, it looks okay and my editor can make enough sense of it to make it flow better than my crazy brain.
When I try to write longer stories ( I'm writing one currently ), it is nigh impossible to keep track without some sort of plan/outline. There are just too many idea's running through my head and it ends up being a giant mess. That's why I'm still ( after one year ) writing one novel. It makes sense in my head, but on paper, or laptop, it doesn't.
Picture included is me trying out a story board...
